Howlite - Still I Find (Official Music Video)

Biography

Alt-pop shapeshifters Howlite create atmospheric soundscapes for daydreamers. With a blend of electronic textures and trip-hop beats they embrace the distinctive lyrical style and intoxicating voice of frontwoman Alison Thom, to bridge the timeless with the contemporary, evoking comparisons to icons like Cocteau Twins, The XX and PJ Harvey.

Backed by a swathe of independent releases and affecting live shows, Howlite have gained significant industry support from their homeland as well as overseas, with Mushroom Group describing them as “controlled sadness beautified into a cluster of sublime sound”, and triple j stating "that London Grammar appeal is there, but this carves out its own beautiful, dramatic sound."

The brainchild of Thom, Howlite began as a solo bedroom-pop exploration project but quickly blossomed into a 3-piece band. With keyboardist Andrew Moscatelli and guitarist / bassist Benjamin Botting, the Melbourne-based trio channel timeless artists such as Portishead and Kate Bush while embracing contemporary pop-hybrids like Sylvan Esso, Aurora and Billie Eilish.

The alt-pop trio have quickly evolved with quiet confidence to forge their own brooding, ethereal aesthetic and assert themselves as a formidable and enduring presence in the Australian music scene, with burgeoning international potential - with KALTBLUT Magazine claiming “Howlite are a much-welcomed escape from reality at this moment in time”.
